Why Train in Microneedling?

Microneedling has burst onto the aesthetic scene over the past 15 years and is the fastest-growing non-surgical aesthetic procedure this decade.  Combining the exfoliation of microdermabrasion, scar treatment that rivals and exceeds expensive lasers, and the deeper nourishment of chemical peels, it shows the most promise of any top-down aesthetic procedure today.  The first microneedling device was FDA-Cleared in 2018.

  • Straightforward to learn in a 1-day hands-on CME-Accredited Training curriculum
  • Complications very rare with good technique and judgment.
  • Results can be doubled when combined with a carefully designed home care regimen.
  • Less competition than Botox and Fillers in most markets.
  • Quick learning curve, so new trainees can feel confident faster.
  • Large breadth of indications from anti-aging, scars, scalp, pigment, pore size, acne, sun damage, pigment, and more.
  • Virtually everyone over age of 30, and some younger is a candidate.
  • Good generator of repeat business every 4-8 weeks.  Treatments are generally sold in packages.
  • Good synergies with PRP.
  • Excellent margins with short 10-15 minute treatment times.
  • Good FDA-Cleared hardware options.

The Cons of Microneedling Treatment are Few…
  • Initial equipment expense of $3,000-$5,000.
    • Equipment is paid off after around 5 4-Treatment packages.
  • Patients need counseling regarding treatment benefits.  Most do not know how they can benefit from a series of treatments.
  • Need to stock aftercare items to guarantee best results.  These can be included in treatment packages.
  • Needle heads must be bought from your pen manufacturer.  There are no “generic” needle heads.

What to Look for in a Microneedling Training Course...

Must Haves…
  • CME Accreditation
  • Small Group Hands-On using FDA-Cleared equipment.
  • Training in all areas that work with no fringe indications
  • Training in depth and visual endpoints to ensure the best results.
  • Know who your faculty is before you sign up.
    • Do not train from someone who you outrank.  MD’s should not learn from NP’s and NP’s should not learn from RN’s.
  • No need for “advanced” or “Level 2” courses
  • Ability to take this with PRP training on the same day for the ultimate synergistic effect.
